Terrence D. Lewis, M.D., Ph.D., FACOG is a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist who sub-specialized and now practices in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.

 

Dr. Lewis was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. After high school, he accepted the National Institute of Health’s prestigious Minorities Accessing Research Careers (MARC) scholarship at Delaware State University (DSU), and ultimately graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology minoring in Chemistry. During his undergraduate experience, Dr. Lewis became increasingly interested in research leading him to study cardiovascular disease with his college mentor. In addition, he took part in summer research at prestigious institutions such as DuPont/Merck Pharmaceuticals, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

 

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree, Dr. Lewis earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his time at UNC, he studied the roles of the estrogen receptors in the development of endometrial cancer. Of note, Dr. Lewis wrote, and was awarded, a highly sought after Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award.

Following graduate school, Dr. Lewis earned a Medical Degree (M.D.) from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. Following medical school, he completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.
